Silk Road Star: Using “Global Wisdom” to Benefit the Fertile Land Around Beijing
From Belt and Road trade to cross-sectoral thinking on “Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalizing Ten Thousand Villages”
On April 17, the launch ceremony of the Beijing Suburban Initiative under the “Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalize Ten Thousand Villages” campaign by the Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce, along with a special event for Huairou District, was held grandly in Huaibei Town, Huairou District. This initiative focuses on facilitating precise matching between private enterprises and rural areas in Beijing’s suburbs, promoting industrial projects, and facilitating cooperation agreements. It aims to encourage deep involvement of Beijing-based private enterprises in rural revitalization, support industrial development and increase farmers’ incomes in suburban areas, and achieve mutual benefits for both villages and enterprises. The program targets ten agricultural suburban districts of Beijing (Huairou, Yanqing, Miyun, Pinggu, Fangshan, etc.), private enterprises, business associations, and grassroots rural organizations.
At the event, Zhao Xue, Chairman of Silk Road Star (Beijing) Science & Trade Co., Ltd., attended as a representative entrepreneur. As the leader of a technology investment and trade company deeply rooted in the Belt and Road market, Mr.Zhao shuttled between the maker town and signed projects, keenly observing the new opportunities for rural revitalization in the Beijing suburbs.

Within the venue: Engaging in in-depth discussions with leaders and demonstrating a commitment to excellence. After listening to the speech delivered by Yan Ying, Vice Chairperson of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, on “Enhancing the Quality and Scope of Rural Tourism Development in the Beijing Suburbs by 2026 with a Focus on Supporting Rural Tourism,” General Manager Zhao stated during exchanges with relevant officials that Chairperson Yan Ying’s call to “lead the way as pioneers” not only reflects expectations for private enterprises in the capital but also represents a responsibility that global companies like Silk Road Star should fulfill. “Our team at Silk Road Star consists of overseas returnees and domestic elites who are accustomed to navigating the international market,” General Manager Zhao noted during his report to the leaders. “The ‘Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalizing Ten Thousand Villages’ initiative reminds us that the foundation of national pride lies in rural areas. We will bring back the international perspective and supply chain management expertise we’ve accumulated along the Belt and Road markets to the green mountains and clear waters of the capital.”

Outside the venue: Exchange ideas with industry peers and explore the potential of cross-sector collaboration. During the event, Ms.Zhao engaged in in-depth discussions with fellow entrepreneurs. Regarding Huairou District’s key cultural tourism projects, she proposed a unique cross-sector integration approach by leveraging Silk Road Star’s core business—enhancing rural tourism through comprehensive health services. Building on the company’s expertise in healthcare and traditional Chinese medicine health products, Ms.Zhao stated: “Huairou is not merely an ecological conservation area but should also become a premier wellness destination. We are exploring ways to introduce our healthcare resources into rural Huairou, developing a distinctive model that combines traditional Chinese medicine wellness, healthcare services, and tourism, enabling visitors to enjoy scenic landscapes while experiencing high-quality wellness experiences.”
A synergistic collaboration between cultural globalization and rural revitalization. Regarding the company’s trade networks in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Russian-speaking regions, General Manager Zhao emphasized that these networks provide a pathway for agricultural products and cultural and creative goods from Beijing’s suburbs to reach international markets. “Rural revitalization requires not only bringing in external resources but also going global,” he stated. “Silk Road Star can leverage our overseas trade network to help distinctive agricultural products and intangible cultural heritage items from Huairou and even Beijing enter the international market, achieving a leap from ‘a remote area near Beijing’ to the global stage.”

Field Visit: Exploring “Technology + Cultural Tourism” through the Maker Town. During her visit to the Maker Town and the Maike Tianxiang project in Hefangkou Village, Huaibei Town, Ms.Zhao highly praised Huairou District’s continuously improved business environment. She noted that Silk Road Star, as a company driven by both technology and trade, places great importance on Huairou’s ecological advantages and the vibrant technological ecosystem of the Maker Town.
“Today’s event is not merely a launch ceremony, but also a platform for resource integration,” summarized Mr.Zhao. “Silu Star aims to serve as a bridge connecting urban and rural areas, bringing global resources to the countryside while showcasing its beauty to the world. This represents not only a strategic business initiative, but also our generation of entrepreneurs’ proactive response to the contemporary challenge of ‘common prosperity.'”
